Sandra Welkerling (Sound / Anthropologist)

Sandra Welkerling is a filmmaker and anthropologist with a special interest in Indigenous cultures in Papua New Guinea and Australia. She produced and co-directed Minister without Money (2005) and on Papa Bilong Chimbu she worked as sound-recordist and anthropological adviser.  She is currently in postproduction for The Queen of Kokoda, a documentary about local tourism in Papua New Guinea. For several years Sandra has worked as a TV researcher and associate producer, including documentaries for the Discovery Channel and National Geographic Channel. Most recently she was the associate producer and anthropological expert on the National Geographic program Taboo and researcher for Nomand’s Land, a French production shot in Australia.
